The Euros, or the European Football Championship to give it its full name, is UEFA's main tournament and it happens every 4 years in a different country (or countries) around Europe since its inception in 1960, and Euro 2024 is the 17th tournament.
The host country in 2024 is Germany, with 10 cities hosting matches throughout the tournament, kicking off in Munich on Friday 14th June 2024 and ending with the final in Berlin, at the Olympiastadion Berlin, the home of Hertha Berlin, on Sunday 14th July 2024.
The 6 group winners, 6 group runners-up and the 4 best third-placed teams progress to the round of 16 when it becomes a knockout competition through quarter-finals, semi-finals, and the final making a total of 51 matches across the month of football. There has been no 3rd place play-off match in the Euros since 1980.
The trophy awarded to the team winning the final on the 14th July is The Henri Delaunay Trophy, which is named in honour of the first General Secretary of UEFA.
Which teams do you think will be in the final? And who will be the ultimate winners of Euro 2024?
