Football PB Coaches Hub CPD Event - June 2026

EVENT | COACHING DEVELOPMENT | CPD

We're proud to be supporting the Football PB Coaches Hub CPD Event this June. And if you're involved in coaching grassroots football, we highly recommend you being there too:

At ChildrensFootball.com, we spend a lot of time thinking about what helps young players develop; the right equipment, the right environment, and above all, the right coaching.

And that last piece is the one that matters most. It's why we're delighted to be supporting the Football PB Coaches Hub CPD Event on Sunday 14th June, and it's why we'd encourage every grassroots coach who can make it to do exactly that.

This isn't just another talking heads day. It's a full coaching development experience, built around practical sessions, expert delivery, and the kind of insight that will genuinely change how you work with players.

What Is Football PB?

Football PB — short for Football Personal Best — is a coaching programme built on a simple but powerful idea: that every individual, regardless of age or ability, deserves the opportunity to achieve their personal best. It's a philosophy that aligns closely with our own at ChildrensFootball.com, where everything we do is designed to give young players the tools and environment to grow.

The Coaches Hub is Football PB's dedicated professional development community — a space where coaches come together to learn, share, and improve. This CPD event is their flagship day, and it's a proper one.

What to Expect on the Day

The day is structured to give you a balance of practical, on-pitch coaching experience and thoughtful discussion, the kind of CPD that sticks because it's grounded in real coaching scenarios.

Here's how the day runs:

  • 10:00 – 11:00    Practical Coaching Sessions
  • 11:00 – 11:30    Break
  • 11:30 – 12:00    Q&A
  • 12:00 – 12:30    Break
  • 12:30 – 1:30      Showcase Session
  • 1:30 – 2:00        Q&A

The Showcase Session is a highlight, a professional, structured football session demonstrating modern coaching methods in action, including ball-based warm-ups, progressive practices, and small-sided games. You won't just hear about good coaching; you'll see it delivered live. The coach delivering the showcase is yet to be revealed, so watch this space.

Expert-Led Sessions Across the Game

What sets this event apart is the quality and range of the individuals sharing their knowledge and expertise. Football PB have assembled professionals from different corners of the game, each bringing hard-won experience and practical knowledge.

Lou Roberts is the former First Team Manager of both Burnley and Stoke Women's

Developing the Girls' Game — Lou Roberts

Lou Roberts is the former First Team Manager of both Burnley and Stoke Women's — two clubs with serious women's football programmes. Her session is a must-attend for any coach working with girls or keen to understand the evolving landscape of the female game. Developing young female players requires specific knowledge, and Lou has it in depth.

Joe Kirkland, current Manager of Solihull Moors Women's

Tactics on Matchday — Joe Kirkland

Joe Kirkland, current Manager of Solihull Moors Women's, will be sharing his approach to matchday decision-making. This is a session for coaches who want to sharpen their in-game thinking — how to read what's happening, when to adapt, and how to communicate it clearly to players in the moment.

Phil Smart is Head of Academy Goalkeeping at West Bromwich Albion

Integrating Goalkeepers Within an Outfield Session — Phil Smart

Phil Smart is Head of Academy Goalkeeping at West Bromwich Albion — a role that puts him at the forefront of developing young GKs within a professional academy structure. His session tackles something many grassroots coaches genuinely struggle with: how to keep goalkeepers meaningfully involved in outfield sessions rather than leaving them kicking a ball against a wall. It's a practical, immediately applicable topic.

Louis Titchener is the Nottingham Forest Academy Lead Performance Coach

Developing Performance Through S&C — Louis Titchener

Louis Titchener is the Nottingham Forest Academy Lead Performance Coach for the 9-16s age group. Strength and conditioning in youth football is a topic that's moved from the margins to the mainstream in recent years, and Louis is well-placed to speak to what's appropriate, effective, and safe at different ages. If you want to understand how physical development fits alongside the technical and tactical, this is the session to catch.

Scott Taylor, Director at Sporting PB, Football Coaches Hub

The event is being organised and hosted by Scott Taylor, Director at Sporting PB, who has an extensive background in football development, with experience in and around grassroots and academy football environments.

Why ChildrensFootball.com Is Involved

Our co-founder Matt Hackett will be at the event, representing ChildrensFootball.com. We're proud to be part of a day that puts coaching quality at the centre, because we know that no piece of equipment, however good, replaces the impact of a well-prepared, thoughtful, knowledgeable coach.

We supply football equipment to clubs, schools, and organisations across the country. We see the full picture of youth football, from the kit and the goals to the cones and the rebounders. But the most important ingredient in any training session is still the person running it. Events like this make that person better, and that ultimately makes the experience better for every child on the pitch.

Also Attending: A Voice on Mental Health in Football

Abi Twomlow - Psychologist trained at Manchester Metropolitan Univesity

Abi Twomlow will also be at the event. Abi retrained as a psychologist at Manchester Metropolitan University and has since built a career as a mental health consultant specialising in anxiety and applied positive psychology. Her presence reflects the growing recognition within football coaching that the well-being, of players and coaches alike, is not a soft add-on but a core part of developing people well.
