Loanhead Miners Youth FC was formed in 1964 (originally as Eskdale Boys Club).
With sponsorship from Loanhead Miners the name changed to Loanhead Miners Boys Club and finally with the girls' section it is now known as Loanhead Miners Youth FC (LMYFC).

LMYFC operate Soccer Stars Kids School for 4 to 5 year olds on Saturday mornings, indoors at Bayne Memorial Hall, along with 4v4s, Super '5s', 7-a-sides (Boys ESSDA / Girls SWF), 9-a-sides (Boys ESSDA / Girls SWF), and 11-a-side football (Boys SERYFA / Girls SWF). LMYFC also fields a Walking Football team for the over 50s.

LMYFC hold the Scottish FA Quality Mark and was the first in Midlothian to have Community Club Status.

LMYFC club colours are Sky Blue, Navy trimmings and Navy shorts; and the change strip is Yellow with Royal Blue shorts.
